If you were to look up the word ‘Shaddai’ in a Bible dictionary you would see that it means ‘sufficient’. In truth, the word is richer than that; much richer. The root of the word ‘Shaddai’ is the same for a mother’s breast. This is who El Shaddai is. He is the all-sufficient one, the one who is able to sustain us as a mother is able to sustain the life of her nursing child. He is the all-sufficient one, having limitless resources for us. And we, as we come to him, can be made strong in the bosom of God. Join us Sunday at 9:30am as we learn more about the name El Shaddai.

CHURCH CONVERSATIONS
Adults, join us Sundays at 11:00am in the sanctuary for Church Conversations. Pastor David will be leading us in discussions concerning lessons he has learned during his years of local church ministry. This week’s topic is “What’s worth fighting over?”

CONNECTION HOUR
Children and youth Sunday school classes continue this Sunday at 11:00am. A list of classes and a church map are available in the foyer. The women’s class continues in Room 114 (Prayer Room).

PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
October is Pastor Appreciation month! This is a time to honor and encourage our pastors (and wives) for all they do in our church and in our community. A card or a thoughtful note would be a great way to express your gratitude for all they do. There are jars in the foyer to place your cards/notes.

FEAST OF PRAISE
Sign up today! Feast of Praise is on Sunday, November 7 at 5:00pm. Please plan on bringing some guests. Also, we are asking everyone to bring 2 favorite Thanksgiving side dishes and a dessert, with enough to serve your family and others as well. The church will be providing the turkey. On the signup card, let us know if you can cook a turkey. We will need around 15 turkey cookers. We will buy the turkey and you will pick up it up along with a foil pan at the church a couple of days before the Feast. Signup cards are on the Thanksgiving table in the foyer.

CONCERT
Nashville natives Chris and Stephanie Teague make up the duo “Out of the Dust.” Their wild and hopeful story of downfall, divorce, and miraculous redemption and remarriage is woven deep into the fabric of their music. See them in concert at Calvary EFC in Rugby on Sunday, October 17 at 6:30pm. Check them out at outofthedustmusic.com.

SEASONED BIBLE FELLOWSHIP
Starting Wednesday, October 20 at 2:00pm in the Connection Room, Rollin Herman will walk you through the book “Facing Down Your Fears with Faith” by David Jeremiah. Come for a time of study and fellowship. Coffee will be provided.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
Join us on Sunday, October 24 at 11:00am for our annual October Congregational Meeting to approve the 2022 budget.

HARVEST PARTY
Everyone is invited to Bethel’s annual Harvest Party on Sunday, October 24 at 3:30pm at Reg & Eileen Herman’s farm in Brinsmade. There will be trap shooting and activities for the whole family. The theme this year is ethnic food. Please bring your favorite ethnic dish to share. If you’re planning to attend, please sign up at The Welcome Center.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Please take a shoebox (available in the foyer) to fill and return during National Collection Week, November 15-21. We are still collecting individual items to fill shoeboxes. Place those in the donation box in the foyer. Contact Kathy (350-1560) with any questions.

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN
Maddock is sponsoring a Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack on November 19 & 20. This is a great opportunity to volunteer as a family or Community Group to package food and provide hope for starving children around the world. Register at give.fmsc.org/maddock.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAMS
Parents and children are invited to participate in Awana (Kindergarten-6th grade) and The Underground Youth Group (7th-12th grade) Wednesdays at 6:30pm. These are great opportunities for families to grow in their relationship with the Lord and the knowledge of God’s Word, while enjoying fellowship with others.
