Pre-Conference - The Morality Debate

Where does morality come from?

We all make moral judgments. We say some things are right and others are wrong. We praise courage, condemn injustice, appeal to human dignity, and expect people to be treated with fairness. But that raises an important question: what is morality grounded in?

On Friday night, the North Dakota Bible Conference will begin with a live debate exploring one of the biggest questions behind how we understand life, justice, truth, and human value: Where does morality come from?

This debate will bring together two thoughtful speakers, Dr. Tim Stratton and Richard Suttles, to discuss whether morality is best explained by God, human nature, society, evolution, or some other foundation. The goal is not merely to win an argument, but to help students, adults, believers, skeptics, and seekers think clearly about the deepest assumptions shaping our culture.

Whether you are a Christian wanting to better understand and defend your faith, someone wrestling with big questions, or simply curious about how different worldviews explain right and wrong, this evening is designed to be thoughtful, respectful, and engaging.

Join us Friday night as we consider why morality matters, where it comes from, and what that means for how we live.
